Anime Adventures Banner Guide

Learn how the Anime Adventures banner system works: Legacy, Special, and Event costs, Mythical and shiny rates, pity counters, and luck potion stacking.

How the Anime Adventures Banner System Works

Every gem you spend at the summon area is a bet, and the Anime Adventures banner decides whether that bet returns a Rare filler unit or the Mythical you were actually chasing. Because costs, pity counters, and rotations differ between the Legacy, Special, and Event pools, pulling without a plan is the fastest way to burn a 400-summon guarantee on the wrong unit. This guide breaks down how each Anime Adventures banner works, what the real drop rates look like, and how to line up pity, luck potions, and banner tiers so every summon moves you toward a unit you'll field.

Summoning happens in a dedicated spot in the lobby, just left of the leaderboard. Four moving parts decide your results:

  • Rotation: Legacy and Special banners refresh every hour and always feature three Mythical units. Event banners stay fixed for the entire event.
  • Currency: Legacy gems or a Summon Ticket for the Legacy banner, regular gems for the Special banner, and limited-time event currency for the Event banner.
  • Pity: builds by one step per summon and resets the instant you pull a Mythical — or when the banner refreshes.
  • Tiers: your player level decides whether shinies and Secret units can appear at all.

A standard pull costs 50 gems, or 40 gems while the VIP gamepass is active. Legacy gems aren't bought directly; you convert regular gems into them or disenchant certain units to stock up. Because pity resets on the hourly refresh, the worst habit in the game is dribbling a few summons onto every new rotation and never finishing a bar.

Legacy vs. Special vs. Event: What Separates Them

Legacy Banner

The Legacy banner is the older pool. It lacks newer units — anything from Update 19 onward doesn't appear — which actually helps you if you're hunting an older Mythical. Within the Mythical outcome, unfeatured units carry a slightly larger individual share than they do on the Special banner (0.714% versus 0.625%). If the unit you want predates Update 19, this is the version of the Anime Adventures banner to roll.

Special Banner

The Special banner can produce almost any unit in the game except those reserved for other banners or other acquisition methods, including newer releases. Featured Mythicals are distributed lopsidedly in your favor: the middle unit takes 50% of Mythical results, the two side units take 10% each, and unfeatured Mythicals sit at 0.526%. That center slot is what your pity bar tracks, so the Special banner rewards patience far more than scattershot pulling.

Event Banner

Event banners run only during a limited-time event and feature exactly three limited Mythicals — no other Mythicals can appear at all. The trade-off is a much shorter pity track: 200 summons, with unowned featured Mythicals prioritized until you've collected all three. Two catches are worth memorizing: Legendary pity does not exist here, and luck potions do not apply to the Event banner. You'll earn the currency through the current event's own activities and capsules, so saving for one large opening session gives you a realistic shot at the pity threshold instead of a pile of unfeatured Rares.

Summon Rates and Shiny Odds

Base rarity chances are the same across the standard pools, with Mythicals getting a bump on the Special and Event banners. The shiny layer sits on top of every rarity, and here's the part most players underestimate: a shiny isn't a separate rarity, it's a 1% multiplier on whatever you pulled — 3% while the Shiny Hunter gamepass is active. That's why shiny Mythicals are so rare.

Secret units are announced server-wide when they drop, and they have no pity safety net whatsoever, so never build a game plan around them. The per-rarity summon rates are worth checking against your roster before you commit a full pity bar to a unit you might not need.

Pity, Luck Potions, and Banner Tiers

Pity is the most valuable mechanic to understand. Every summon adds one step to the bar for the middle featured unit; the bar fills at 400 pulls on Legacy and Special, and 200 on Event. Pulling any Mythical at any point wipes the bar back to zero, and so does the hourly refresh. That means a partial bar is worth nothing the moment you walk away — either commit or don't start.

Luck potions raise the odds of Epic, Legendary, and Mythical results but never reduce the pity requirement. The paid potions stack with a standard Luck Potion:

Super Lucky Potion (99 Robux)2x Legendary and Mythical odds
Ultra Lucky Potion (149 Robux)3x Legendary and Mythical odds

Finally, banner tiers gate what can appear on your account at all — a barrier aimed at stopping high-level players from farming alt accounts for rare pulls.

A Practical Summoning Plan

  1. Pick one target before you spend. Read the featured lineup first. If the middle Mythical isn't worth 400 pulls to you, skip the rotation entirely.
  2. Reach Tier 2 (level 20) before hunting rares. Below that, shinies and Secrets are simply locked out of your pool, so early gems are better saved.
  3. Bank the full pity amount. 20,000 gems — or 16,000 with VIP — is the real price of a guaranteed featured Mythical on Legacy or Special. Anything less is a gamble with a reset attached.
  4. Convert to Legacy gems only when the target demands it. Older Mythicals live on the Legacy banner; newer ones require the Special banner.
  5. Stack luck buffs at the start of a long session. Potions amplify every pull in the window, so buying them for three summons wastes the multiplier.
  6. Protect your Event currency for the 200-pull threshold. Because unowned featured Mythicals are prioritized, a completed Event bar usually fills the biggest gaps in your collection.

FAQ

How many gems does the Anime Adventures banner need for a guaranteed Mythical? 400 pulls at 50 gems each totals 20,000 gems, or 16,000 with the VIP gamepass, on both Legacy and Special banners. Event banners use 200 summons in event currency instead.

Does pity carry over when the Anime Adventures banner rotates? No. The bar resets when the banner refreshes every hour, and it also resets the moment you pull any Mythical before reaching the guarantee.

Which Anime Adventures banner should new players summon on? Early on, save rather than spend. Shiny and Secret units are locked until Tier 1 and Tier 2 at levels 5 and 20, so gems spent below those thresholds can't reach the rarest outcomes.

Can you get shinies from the Event banner? Yes. Shinies roll at the same 1% base rate (3% with Shiny Hunter) on every pool, but luck potions have no effect on the Event banner, so its shiny Mythical odds can't be boosted with consumables.
